§ What is leadership? Evolving models of leadership (top down to servant to distributed/dispersed leadership)
§ Role of context in leadership effectiveness/style (e.g., organizational culture, external factors, extant leadership, etc.) Situational Leadership
§ Managing various types of leadership/follower relationships
§ Leadership skill development: communication, vision, values and self-awareness
§ Aligning others: Importance of vision and mission to leaders and to their organizations
§ Role of leadership values and beliefs (importance of knowing, sharing)
§ Leadership practices – developing a set of flexible strategies aligned with context and situational needs
§ Understanding the relationship between leadership and strategy
Leadership Management (1/2 day)
§ Understanding the relationship between what you have been doing as a manager and the skills and behaviours of a leader
§ How they differ; how they are mutually supportive
